Biography: |
I'm Ana Dorcu. I study Fine Arts in Romania, perhaps with the secret desire to rebel against the Ugly Arts of those who hate Picasso's Beauty in Blue or Munch's teenage terror. I left behind my mother's tears, my childhood, and a few statues in my hometown church.
A Socrates scholarship brings me to Salamanca, where I breathe figurative art, fauvism, expressionism, cubism, abstract art, freedom... But when I finally find the frog on the Plateresque façade, I decide to seek new air. Already in Madrid, with the first tears of the century, I survive, exhibit, work, love, succeed, fail, and paint more with the spirals of my mind than with my hands, until I realize I am not what I am. I am what I do. So now that I've escaped from the parenthesis, this is what I do: I paint, I paint, I paint, and I invite you to let yourselves be captured. Don't dream of cobblestones if you have the Rainbow, if visual passion floods you, if you want to fight against the inhospitable tyranny of Reality: that Leviathan of hatred that devours everything. |
