Biography: Annavi Salom was born on May 25, 1995 in Asunción, Paraguay. She is a Paraguayan visual artist and fashion designer. He studied Plastic Arts at the Polytechnic and Artistic University of Paraguay (UPAP) and Fashion Design at the Institute of Haute Couture, Design and Fashion (IAC, D&M) of the city of Asunción. In 2013 she presented her first costume design in the Parade "Show de Estaciones" held on the Antequera Steps. Later, in 2014, he created a design inspired by the pacurí - a very attractive tree with small yellow fruits - that was shown in the Parade Show '' Eco Runway '' held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Asunción. His artistic career began at an early age; At sixteen, motivated by her innate ability to draw and paint, she decided to artistically intervene in clothing. The hand-painted T-shirt project captivated family and friends who spread the word to make the product known.
For three consecutive years he dedicated himself to painting T-shirts with personalized designs until, in 2015, an event marked his life and became the breadwinner for his family. That fact helped him mature and expand his mind to find a way to increase his income. In April of that same year, he passed by the Municipal Market No. 4 in the city of Asunción and visited some artisans who sold him a bag with clay ready to model. Having no prior knowledge of sculpture, he made a clay pencil holder with the face of the American singer "Katy Perry" and the result was cartoonish.
By publishing this first job on social networks, it was successful because it was something new in Paraguay. From that moment on, in addition to painting T-shirts and paintings sporadically, he created numerous small-format sculptures, inspired by famous people such as rock singers or well-known actors.
In 2016, she was selected to make a series of sculptures that were exhibited in the showcase of the '' Soy Volumen '' archive, assembled and directed by Bettina Brizuela and Laura Mandelik, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Juan de Salazar Cultural Center. Despite the flattery for the characterization of her characters made of clay, Annavi was not happy because she noticed that the pieces were fragile, and did not have the right oven to cook her work. After much research to find a material to replace clay, he discovered a French sculptor named '' Mèlanie Bourlon '', who works with the '' Papier Mâche '' technique. This artist inspired her a lot to later create larger sculptures with recycled materials.
On June 2, 2019, she was invited by the group of Paraguayan artists of Italian descent called '' Noi Siamo '', to sell some sculptures at the '' III Festa Italiana '' that was held in Plaza Italia in Asunción. The expressiveness of these works attracted the attention of the renowned British plastic artist and philanthropist "Ysanne Gayet" - living in Paraguay since 1970 - who summoned her to create, together with other young talents, the "Pesebres Itaú 2019".

The main themes that appear in his new works are human relations and the culture of Paraguay in general. The figure of the Paraguayan woman and her connection with the ñandutí is a great inspiration; To show the poetry that exists in that world using materials found in a fortuitous way, is the objective of Annavi, who is characterized - according to the viewers - for managing to capture the soul of her characters through expressions.
Influenced by the Bauhaus school in Weimar —which fused art and crafts— and by artists such as Niki de Saint Phalle —who used various objects found in different places to build her assemblies—, Annavi makes her way in the world of sculpture gathering all kinds of materials that have textures, shapes, colors and sizes, in order to demonstrate that excellent works can be produced with what apparently no longer works.
