My name is Gilberto G. Sánchez, aka "Krotalon".
I am an illustrator, designer, artist and art restorer. My first approach to drawing was by my mom and dad, who taught me how to draw and impelled to develop creativity and imagination. I like to recreate through my illustrations and paintings, characters and fantastic environments. I was born in Mexico City and I live in Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, where since I was little I used to draw creatures and monsters because I thought that if I drew them, if they existed. I studied design and visual communication, I did the specialty in the area of illustration, traditional techniques and digital media. I continue updating with courses and workshops. I also like to participate in design and illustration contests and promote my work through artistic exhibitions inside and outside of my country. I have had exhibitions at the Embassy of Japan, at the Gallery of the National School of Painting Sculpture and Engraving "La Esmeralda", also in the windows of the Mexico City subway. As well as in Argentina, Romania and Italy. I participated in Cut & Paste, the most prestigious global digital design tournament in the world, I belonged to the X3 generation of Digital Invaders, located in Saltillo Coahuila, Mexico. They will publish my work in a book entitled: Book Monster from the Imagination: Best Creature Design by Global Artist 300 Illustrations, In China and Europe during April 2018 and two more books during this same year. I have worked as an Art Director in Advertising Agencies. For the National Institute of Fine Arts, as Officer of Mural Restoration, carrying out different restoration projects in the Palace of Fine Arts, National Palace and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, in Chihuahua Chihuahua. My work has been exhibited in different international exhibitions of poster, illustration and stickers. |
