Jorge Palacios is an artistic artist, a native of Monterrey, Mexico and with more than 30 years of artistic career. He started painting self-taught large format works at 17, obtaining individual exhibitions mainly at Monterrey, San Pedro Garza García and Mexico City.
Being at the time of the 90s one of the most successful emerging painters in Mexico, for this reason in 1993 he was selected by the Embassy of Japan to represent Mexico on the Ship for World Youth, a ship that houses every 12 years the XNUMX young leaders from each country to live a cultural and leadership experience for three months visiting various cities on the planet. In gratitude for that experience that opened his international career, he painted for the Emperor Akhito of Japan and President Carlos Salinas de Gortari. From 1994 to 1996, he began an international tour in Latin America and the Caribbean, where his individual exhibition at the Cultural Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile stands out, and he was commissioned to paint a large mural for the Museo Faro a Colon in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Later in 1997 he studied at the prestigious Art School "Hospicio Cabañas" in Guadalajara, Jalisco, graduating in 2000 and in that same year he traveled to Venice, Italy for an advanced course of drawing in human figure at the Scuola Internacionale Gráfica di Venecia , Italy. Being in that country, he gets two individual exhibitions in Rome and Venice. Upon arrival in Mexico, some businessmen are commissioned to make various murals for their residences and buildings, while a new tour in Mexico entitled LA FAUNA DE PALACIOS begins being Guanajuato, Toluca, Valle de Bravo, the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí and even the Chamber of Deputies of the Palacio San Lázaro, host of this collection. In 2015 he exhibited at DC Gallery in New Delhi, India and Mithila Yain Art Galery in Kathmandu, Nepal. In 2017 he is honored for his career with an exhibition titled "30 PALACIOS" in honor of 30 years of artistic career, this was at the Metropolitan Museum of the city of Monterrey. From 1985 to date, he has held nearly 65 individual exhibitions in Mexico and in countries such as the United States, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Italy, the Philippines, India and Nepal. |
