Enrike Zubia Elordui was born in Bermeo (Bizkaia) on 1947. To the 17 years begins to take its first steps with the oil painting and in 1965 obtains the title of Master Damascrat. From then until today, painting and sculpture have been his source of life, becoming an artist of full dedication and full time. The coastal town that saw him born, Bermeo, has marked both his work and its theme. Zubia feeds on land and sea, from the Basque ports; Of the life that is in them and their people. The artist captures the life of the sailors with almost cinematic precision. They are pictures of rapid brushstrokes where the ethnographic nuances of the Basque fisherman are perfectly studied. The figure and landscape are his two greatest weaknesses when it comes to picking up the brush. His chromatic record is an exhibition and shows his ability to overcome any artistic difficulty.
During his professional career he has made several exhibitions both inside and outside the Basque Country. Today it has extensive pictorial work and sculpture in several public and private collections in several countries such as Spain, Italy, Belgium, Holland, USA, Brazil, Chile, etc. In his most recent period, he has also had the opportunity to carry out different sculptural projects in various municipalities of the Basque Country. |
