Summary of the original work
Year: 2018
Fine Art Common Zebra on Ash wood
Common Zebra, Plains Zebra, Equus quagga
Okawango Delta, Botswana, Africa
Size 55,00cm x 37cm (W x H)
Optimum printing quality of high strength and durability in matt finish on 3mm aluminum and Ash wood.
The wood used for this work is "recovery wood" from trees felled by natural causes, dry, sick, or waste from "Historic Gardening". These woods can show wounds and scars of his biography (knots, cracks, fissures, twisted fibers, resins, insect attacks, etc.), that far from being considered a demerit, are testimonies of a singular life that make each work a "Unique piece".
Being wood a natural material from a "living being" is sensitive to environmental changes (humidity, temperature, etc.) so it can undergo slight alterations over time as loss of small pieces of bark, fissures, etc.
Common ash, Fraxinus angustifolia. Native to the Iberian Peninsula, it is a deciduous tree that can be found forming dehesas. Its wood, of light and yellowish color is strong, grainy, flexible and resistant.
