Javier Ramos Julián (1979) is an artist based in Madrid. He shows great interest in art since childhood, always standing out in drawing classes. To follow his passion and talent, he attended various painting academies, until in 1998 he entered the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), obtaining in 2003 the title of Bachelor.
In order to gain experience and continue with his training, he develops various activities in higher education at the Faculty of Fine Arts (UCM) (2005-2012). In 2012 he achieves the Degree of Doctor of Fine Arts (UCM) with the rating of "Outstanding Cum Laude". His Doctoral Thesis on public art allows him to personally interview experts and artists of the stature of Jaume Plensa, Henry Chalfant, Santiago de Santiago or Rosa Olivares. He has written and published various articles on the subject in various scientific publications. At the same time that he is completing his Doctoral Thesis, he is studying the Audiovisual Communication degree, which allows him to experiment in the field of Cinematography and Television, as well as participate in the research project GICOMSOC (Research Group on Communication, Society and Culture ) between the Ministry of the Presidency (Secretary of State for Communication) and the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) in Madrid. Finally, in 2013, he obtained his second Bachelor's Degree at the Faculty of Communication Sciences (URJC). In addition, it continues to attend professorships, congresses, seminars and artistic courses taught by internationally renowned teachers, such as Antonio López García, Nils Norman or Serge Spitzer, among others. Among the exhibitions held, it is worth mentioning: "Air Force Awards 2018" at the General Headquarters of the Spanish Air Force; "32nd BMW Painting Prize" (2018) at the Carlos de Amberes Foundation in Madrid; "8 + 1" Gallery NB7 (2016) in Madrid; FLECHA (Fair for the Liberation of Commercial Spaces Towards Art) in Madrid (2016); “A Day at the Casa de Velázquez” (2014) at the Casa de Velázquez, Académie de France in Madrid; "No Title" (2006) in the Exhibition Hall of the Faculty of Fine Arts (UCM); "Exhibition of Painting of 5th Year Students of the Faculty of Fine Arts" (2003) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Poland); "Sports in the Plastic Arts", II European Contest (2003) at the Conde Duque Cultural Center (Madrid); and “El Aeropuerto de Barajas”, XV Painting Contest of the Fundación Amigos de Madrid (2003) at the Museum of the City of Madrid. His passion for painting has been constant throughout these years. Currently his paintings show the transformation of the environment with public transit spaces and intimate places in the inhabited city. |
