Originating from Mexico City, Marisol Vélez is an artist who manages an abstract-figurative style, where she is characterized by hiding a figure within a series of geometric strokes full of volume and vibrant colors.
It is characterized by the art of hiding. The work of VEDI challenges the viewer to look for a figure, which once discovered, gives the illusion of having a third dimension. It represents a duality between wanting to go unnoticed, hidden from the eyes and on the other hand wanting to be seen, to excel. This duality shows part of the personality of the artist.
His beginnings in painting go back to his childhood, integrating in different courses and workshops.
He has dabbled in Chinese ink, watercolor, sanguine, charcoal, pastel, tempera, acrylic, enamel and encaustic, as well as in the application of textures.

Currently his technique is acrylic using gold and silver leaves and strokes mostly circular, highlighted by the cheerful Mexican color, managing to transmit great harmony to just look at his work.
