Painter and teacher from Salamanca. After a long journey through different Spanish cities, he settled in Salamanca, establishing his painting studio in the dynamic and artistic Barrio del Oeste.
He began painting regularly at the beginning of the 90 and his "series of paintings" show from the beginning a tendency towards conceptual and perceptive abstraction. In his work he experiments with a great variety of materials and uses numerous symbolic and conceptual elements, where we find influences from contemporary music (serial and controlled randomness) to Jung's Analytical Psychology (the Archetypes and the collective Unconscious). He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, contests and prizes. Thus, in the last period, he has been a finalist in important international awards on the national scene such as the Focus-Abengoa 2014 and 2017 International Painting Prize, the 76 International Visual Arts Exhibition of Valdepeñas 2015, the VI Torres-García Biennial Painting Prize 2015 or the XV, XVII and XVIII Andalusian Prize for Contemporary Painting, reaching the 3º prize at the XV International Painting Prize Miquel Viladrich 2015. |
