Summary of the original work
Year: 2024
I have always been fascinated by the colonial architecture of Andean villages, with their cobblestone streets, adobe houses and tiled roofs. I wanted to capture in this painting that essence of the old, that feeling of time standing still that one breathes in these places.
The warmth of the colours: The warm and vibrant colours of the work are a tribute to the light of the Andean sun. The ochre and yellow tones of the houses evoke the earth, while the blues and greens represent the sky and vegetation. I wanted to create a welcoming and lively atmosphere.
Perspective: The perspective of the painting allowed me to create a sense of depth and breadth. The viewer can almost feel like they are walking through the streets of the village, observing the details of each house.
The story: Every house tells a story. The windows, the doors, the balconies... all these elements are like little time capsules that tell us about the lives of the people who lived in these places. I wanted to create a work that would invite reflection and imagination.
The bridge: The bridge is the central element of the composition. It represents the connection between the different parts of the town, but it also symbolizes the passage of time and the connection between the past and the present.
Ultimately, "Pueblo Andino" is an ode to the beauty and cultural richness of the Andean peoples. I hope that this work can transport the viewer to a place full of charm and nostalgia.
