Post-photographic abstract bark landscapes "Holz" [wood, firewood] is an old name for the forest. In the forest there are paths usually half hidden by undergrowth, which abruptly cease where untrodden. It is these paths that are called "Holzwege" ["forest paths, paths that get lost in the forest"]. Each of them follows a different route, but always within the same forest. Many times it seems as if they are the same, but it is a mere appearance. The loggers and rangers know the roads. They know what it means to find yourself on a path that gets lost in the forest.
