Summary of the original work

Oil on canvas
Sizes: 81 cm wide x 100 cm high.
Year: 2023
Ready to hang
I think this image perfectly reflects (transferred to the present, of course) the deity of Lilith in the Sumerian myth: empowerment, sensuality, strength and a lot of freedom. She half animal, half human.

«In the Sumerian myth Lilith is a goddess or independent force associated with darkness and feared by men. In the Hebrew myth she would represent equality against man since she was created in her likeness. Thus, seeing herself equal to Adam, she rebelled against his demands for submission and abandoned him. She had other loves and many children. She was, in this sense, the first free woman in history and therefore traditionally considered a 'femme fatale', the downfall of men, the devil, the demonic, the femme fatale from whom she had to stay away. She represented the complete opposite of the faithful wife and self-sacrificing and obedient mother. In the Judeo-Christian tradition, the image of Lilith is perpetuated over time with different iconographies and characteristics: snake, half animal and half human, devil, woman of captivating beauty and sensuality, always naked and provocative.»
