The piece has been made with Japanese lacquer, "URUSHI" technique.
The raw material that intervenes in the process of lacquering a piece is raw unrefined resin lacquer.
It is extracted from the Urushi tree of the cashew family called “RHUS-VERNIFLUA. It was born spontaneously in China, Korea and Vietnam, while in Japan it began to be cultivated from the XNUMXth century AD. C. The way to extract this resin from the tree is by making small incisions in its bark, where a milky white juice is collected (which changes color when it comes into contact with the air). It is poured into wooden containers. These containers had to be kept in humid and dark environments.
The field of lacquering in boats was even isolated in the middle of lagoons

The realization goes through different phases until the lacquering of an object is completed:


1st phase / is called Kijigatame (pore cover). A coat of raw lacquer is given over the object.
This process is called Sita-Nuri (preparation layers).
The realization of the object itself. It involves a long process in the piece, each step that is taken requires constantly maintaining the piece-artist interaction. They are layers of resin (lacquer) and the process of moisture hardening in a wood paneling. Always from its design to its completion it goes through different phases creating an introspection with the artist.
