Pere Lluís León began his drawing studies at the tender age of ten. His unquestionable vocation impelled him to enroll in the Llotja art school to study drawing.
Without ever losing sight of a clear vocation to the graphic arts, Pere Lluís León resumed painting studies at Escoles Massana and Belles Arts at the 21 years, and then, a year later, left for Paris, Rotterdam and Brussels where he alternated several jobs with art studies.
Upon his return to the city of Barcelona, he began to work in medical publications, and began a collaboration with the medical school where he performed multiple medical illustration works for the teaching programs of the students of the faculty; collaboration that would last for more than ten years and that founded the bases of a knowledge in anatomy that would be reflected in his later work.
It was then, when Pere Lluís specialized in medical and scientific illustration, in the use of both traditional and digital techniques. During more than thirty years of professional career, thousands of illustrations have been published in multiple publishers of medical books, faculties and universities in Spain and the rest of Europe and magazines and medical and scientific publications.
Currently, he combines his medical-surgical illustration works for different hospitals and medical schools, with painting and graphic design.
