Summary of the original work
Year: 2012
The works belong to the series "Haikus." Each photograph is inspired by a Japanese poem, which speaks of the beauty of Nature and the contemplation of the landscape.
The format is 50x50cm in metallic paper to give a sense of relief and highlight all the nuances of the works. The "Haikus" are Japanese poems, formed by three verses.
Generally, they are based on the astonishment and the emotion that the contemplation of Nature produces in the poet.
As is traditional, these "Haikus" also refer to the cyclical passage of the stations, which the look of these photographs help to complement, being the "Haiku" as the photograph, an intuitive vision of reality.
In this game of lights and shadows, the walker is diluted in the landscape, until becoming, practically invisible. Meanwhile, it is Nature that acquires a more concrete, more real form, until it is harmonized with one of the transcendental principles of "Haiku": the "I" asusence.
The essence of "Haiku" is to perceive things "as they are". There are no superfluous artifices, only the amazement of expressing oneself, subtly, without actually saying everything.
In this photographic exhibition, bridges are laid between East and West. There is an exercise in observing the landscape, with the emotion as simple as universal, of the essence of Japanese poetry.
"Haiku" is, simply, what is happening in this place, at this moment, here and now.
