Silvio Santambrogio, initially began his painting studies at the age of eight, in Father Monín's painting workshop, located in the old Colegio Ciare: de los Dos Caminos. There he learned the fundamental techniques of drawing in charcoal, pencil and pastel. As a result of the progress evidenced, he was selected on several occasions to participate in various pictorial competitions, having obtained merits and recognition for the quality of the works. Later, at the age of 13, he entered the painting workshop of the famous teacher C: ecilio García Meneses. In this study, he achieved the basic knowledge previously acquired, initially delving into the techniques of Charcoal, Pastel, Creyin and Wax. At the same time, he took courses in Perspective, Architectural Drawing and studies of the Human Figure. Subsequently, he passed the courses in Watercolor, Tenipera, Acrylic and finally Oil. The teacher having recognized the qualities of his student, he was invited to receive "exclusive" and specially directed classes from him. In that particular course, he learned the technique of Petropainting pictorial process devised and created by Professor Meneses. As you will remember, the petropmtura consists of "Despintar Pintando" by means of crude oil. Further. He made a course with the same professor on Ubiquitous Techniques, in which the Pictorial Methodologies of the famous Spanish Master Eugenio Hermoso (Teacher and professor of García Meneses) were revealed. Later, he learned the new techniques of relief painting and air painting, which consists of obtaining artistic expressions, through the plastic material shaped by pneumatic mechanisms based on a personal heuristic. Later, he received artistic education classes from the renowned painter and sculptor Segundo Gutiérrez, an artist of international fame, who has exhibited in important European and American galleries. With Professor Gutiérrez Silvio he collaborated in the execution of stained glass and murals, and to see in art the very essence of the artistic object. From his numerous trips to Europe, especially to Italy, Silvio collected the experience of great works of art. Precisely in Italy, he meets several painters of very different tendencies, from whom he receives numerous and interesting advice. Since then and until today, Silvio has cultivated a personal style of artistic expression. His favorite shortlists are the natural scenes, landscapes and manifestations of nature in its various facets, alternating scenes from rural Venezuelan and rural life in the Llano, with pictures of old Europe in its medieval streets, castles, alpine lakes, etc. , capturing for each one of them the characteristic atmosphere of color, tonality and nuance of said regions. On the other hand, he has also dabbled in religious painting, having made various Christs in bust and Crucifixes. Also, it has lately leaned towards the historical landscape, having carried out representative works of the ancient Appian way, Roman porticos, etc. However, it finds a happy expression in the seascapes and water landscapes, in which it magnificently achieves the aquatic hues that melt into subtle sunsets. The muds, old galleons and seas of bluish depths, are among the most beautiful and successful of their manifestations. In short, we can say that Silvio San-tambrogio's painting represents the synthesis of the techniques learned, that they row expressed through an original and personal vision, and invite emotion and calm by transmitting and evoking pleasant, clean and transparent.
