“Ave Fénix” Oil on canvas 100x81cm (Beautiful Creatures Collection - Painting nº2)
About the painting: Months ago I started following the page of Miss Vintage Photography on FB and IG (@ miss.vintage.photography). I love everything he does! For those of you who don't know me, I give you an anecdotal fact that is quite revealing as to why I like this page beyond because of its good inspirational work in the field of painting: I got married in Las Vegas billions of years ago, but I couldn't to do it dressed as Marilyn Monroe as it was my intention because the disguise was sweaty by the heats of the desert on the body of the previous bride and… well, one is a little scrupulous! I was left wanting some photos characterized (by the way: my birthday is in April ... ahem!) Now there will be many who decide that they have already read and known enough of me to block and stop reading. For the rest, I return: Among the usual models of this photographer, is @nayrapetrini, which apart from being a super expressive beauty, radiates a very special energy ... it is pure light. The initial idea was to select one of the photographs so beautiful that they had taken in Miss Vintage and request permission from both parties to paint a Pin-up style painting, peeeero… .I got to see their photos on Instagram and I came across one that It had nothing to do (my crush, you know!). It was a selfie, a private moment in a nightgown (I have always admired women who wear this type of nightgowns to sleep), and without looking at the camera. I tend to ask myself whenever I see an image that impacts me “what will come next ?; what would be the next move? This photo had energy, a life of its own with what is intuited. Emotions in a click. It was a REAL moment. With her, it was clear that she was going to look up and was going to stretch her arms like someone looking to take the flight ... it was a photo of the moment before the resurgence of something ... the rebirth of the "Phoenix Bird". We should all have a photo like that ... capture that rebirth from the ashes. In these days I have seen the odd one and I am glad. Every day we live and die a little more, but there are decisive moments. Bravo for @nayrapetrini!
Nayra confirmed to me that this photo was taken in a kind of turning point in his life, at the time when he again loved himself a little more than he had done, and that honestly, I hope he does not stop doing because What radiates are just beautiful things.
For all the above, I was always clear that this painting should be the second to introduce you to my series "Beautiful Creatures" that was inaugurated with "Who I am?" Http://oliviacaballero.com/who-am-i/ and that Yesterday I was clear about who my third “Bella Creature” (Paloma) would be, and the cheerful confirmation from him and his photographer (Yago) that he had the freedom to paint and include it. As soon as I finish everything I have in my hands I will get to work!
Before saying goodbye ... do we put some music on Nina Simone at this time? https://youtu.be/D5Y11hwjMNs
Translation for gross and / or ignorant people like me, who appreciate enjoying the music but knowing what the lyrics say in full:
Feel good
Birds flying high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Drift breeze for you know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It is a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good
Fish in the sea you know how I feel
Rio running free you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree you know how I feel
Dragonfly in the sun
You know what I mean, don't you know?
Butterflies are having fun, you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when the day is over
That's what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me
The stars when you shine you know how I feel
Smell of pine, you know how I feel
Freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
