I painted this canvas based on a photograph of the coquettish and small beach of Caneliñas, located in Portonovo (Pontevedra).
It is a sight that I liked very much the first time I saw it, due to its great aesthetic potential because of the elements that perfectly represent the sea world very present in Galicia.
It emphasizes in a first plane, like main element of the work, a marine anchor of iron of great dimensions that is very oxidized, of there the title of the picture. All this is part of a monument dedicated to the people of the sea.
To the right of the image is the tourist town of Sanxenxo; while on the left are the fishing municipalities of Bueu and Cangas do Morrazo.
At the bottom and almost imperceptible, we can see the island of Ons; which, inhabited by approximately 80 inhabitants, is part of the Maritime Terrestrial Park of the Atlantic Islands.
