The exercises of subtlety that nourish the pictorial work of Javier Valverde constitute a continuous reminder of the mechanisms of his own gaze. References to a complex perception of the reality that surrounds him, of nature as the mirror in which his eyes bounce and run into the canvas. Between its margins a universe of lightness, of nuance, of the verification of unreal scenarios, loaded with elements difficult to apprehend, that escape thought, is configured. The painter Valverde does not think in words, he builds paintings as free territories in which nature disappears to make way for the essence of his feeling. The words have escaped from the painting of him.
