Bronze on marble base. Angèlica Arvylàs Torner is a Spanish figurative sculptor. With his studio in the Empordà, the beautiful area that inspires and inspired so many artists today and in the past such as Picasso or Dalí, he focuses on the study of the human figure. With a strong technical and anatomy base, he represents the expression, movement, character, poetry and beauty of the human figure in his sculptures. Getting something deeper than just a superficial image, its main objective is to represent the soul, emotion or feelings that any human being, regardless of sex, age or race, could have or feel; and that can be seen in his works.
He has been a finalist in numerous national and international art competitions, such as the world-renowned International ARC Salon, Art Renewal Center, USA. His sculptures have been exhibited in major cities in Europe. His work is part of several private collections in different countries in Europe, America and Asia, as well as in the public area.
He was born in Barcelona in 1985, and comes from a Catalan Greek family. She began her passionate career as a sculptor when she was 19 years old, learning the technique of stone carving from the sculptor Enric Sala in Girona, Spain. After a few months, I would work with him on a sculpture for the public area. After a year, he obtained his first commission also for public space, at age 20, from the city where he grew up, Lloret de Mar. He combined that work with his studies at the Escola Superior d'Art d'Olot, where he studied sculpture. for three years.
In 2013 she decided to broaden her knowledge and learn more about figurative sculpture, so she was accepted and moved to Florence, Italy, to study at the prestigious The Florence Academy of Art, obtaining two scholarships from the school during her time there. In 2017 he completed the Sculpture Program and the Ecorché course at the FAA.
Once she returned to Spain, she has been a professor of sculpture and anatomy at the Ramón Llull University, la Salle, University in Barcelona. She is currently a sculpture professor at the Barcelona Academy of Art. She is also a member of the jury for some art competitions.
