Biography: Mexican painter; Began to paint his first paintings to the 6 years. At 11 years, his Huichol great-grandfather, Angel Velázquez, had to leave his village, Kiatate (Nayarit), coming to live at Agustín's house in Mexico City. There, the grandfather decided to initiate it in the Huichol ancestral art. Agustín learned about the work of the chaquira and the stamen, and the Huichol colors.
To continue the tradition, and renew it, the techniques of Augustine combine the old with the new; the manual and the digital, because the Huichol is eternal renewal and movement, and they show us the joy and the light, the high and the low.
The current to which his work belongs is eclectic, being able to be called Mexican pop.
Agustín has been exposed in various galleries in Mexico; and has works of his in London, New York, Los Angeles, Spain, France, Germany and South America; among other places.
