This is a painting based on a photograph of a Celtic fort in Santa Tecla, A Guardia (Pontevedra), where you can see the river Miño that acts as the natural border between Spain and Portugal that is seen in the background.
Here I wanted to recreate this primitive and well preserved fort, where we can imagine how our Celtic ancestors lived.
There is a huge contrast between this ancient historical vestige and the current construction seen in the background. Despite this, the whole environment integrates perfectly both historical epochs, observing a balance of historical coexistence without visual or architectural stridency.
The most difficult thing that supposed to paint this scene was the straw of the roof, although in the end the result is appreciated credible.
