He studied at the La Esmeralda National School of Painting, Engraving and Sculpture, took private classes with the famous painter Santiago Carbonell, who influenced him in his refined technique and care for the details that he captures on canvas.
In his works Diego Luz applies intense, brilliant and colorful contrasts. When we zoom in on his paintings we will see a chaotic mix of colors and superimposed layers of oil; however, when we move away from the painting we can appreciate many images in harmony, which makes us feel an explosive vitality: a mix and ease of Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism and Tachismo. He has participated in various international, collective and individual exhibitions, including: Sun Gallery in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. Live Art Auction 2017, Museum of Modern Art of Mexico City.
