Karen OZ was born in Valparaíso, Chile.
Magic colors, abstract forms, superimposed realities and parallel universes come together in the particular artistic and metaphysical sense of his work, which together with the constant invitation to travel, to meet a new creative horizon makes his art -completely authorial and subjective - a space for personal and universal reflection. After studying formal studies of painting and design, he began a journey through ancient and secret cities, rediscovering and perfecting the techniques of pre-Columbian ceramics and deepening the mystery of art and alchemy, in this constant search he has dabbled in the goldsmith's art that lead her to become the creative director of Rytual. Related with surrealist and impressionist movements, but above all, with the deep sense of magic residing in the religious and ritualistic conjugation of motives and materialities. The work of Karen OZ is weaving the plot of an own aesthetic, rooted in the myths, techniques and ancestral materials inaugurates the Plastic Archeology as a cause of its creative identity - that assuming the future - is expressed in his works; that since 1996 has been reflected in various exhibitions and individual and collective workshops, of national and global convocation. |
