Biography: Maritza Chacón Bermúdez

She is born in the city of San José, Costa Rica, 5 of July of 1957, grows surrounded by coffee plantations with honey smell, her profession of Administer Tourist Business takes her to the city of Caracas Venezuela in year 1982, when she contracts nuptials with a young Venezuelan.
He lives in that country for 27 years, 15 on the island of Margarita where after dedicating himself to raising monarch butterflies, he decides to capture on canvas the small drawings made in the corners of the leaves of his university books, together with the greens emerald of the seas that surround it.
From year 2002, he studied drawing and painting at the Pedro Ángel González School of Fine Arts, on the island of Margarita with teachers Juan García and William Hidalgo. He obtains his first prize, in the Exhibition of the Colegio Guayamurí, House of the Culture People of the Sea, where he is awarded the second place with his canvas "Quebrada El Jaspe" stage that he will visit in Canaima National Park in Venezuela.
As a result of the difficult economic and political situation that begins to be glimpsed by the year 2007 decides to move to his native Costa Rica, where a new stage in artistic training begins.
His work is summarized in rural nostalgia that combines perfectly with the marine environment. A lover of nature and innate conservationist, he manages to express feelings of tranquility and security in calm and clear turquoise seas, combined with the fauna of the green of his Costa Rican cloud forests.
In the month of September of 2007 is granted SPECIAL MENSION, to his work "Vuelve a nosotros tus ojos" an acrylic on canvas with a marine transparency of the Virgin of Our Lady of the Valley, exhibition that takes place in his name every year in the city of Porlamar, Margarita.
He studies with Professor Leo Yang, perfecting the portrait in graphite and later in the use of color in works of impressionistic tendency. His inspiration Monet, Manet, Renoir and the painters of American Impressionism without forgetting the pictorial manifestations of Costa Rican art.
He joins Plein Air Costa Rica and during the 2017 he participates in innumerable official exits for the elaboration of works pleinairistas, and his exhibition in different spaces and galleries.

Lover of oil on fabric and textures, plasma daily scenes of his country town with reflections of the abundant biodiversity of Costa Rica.
