Artistic statement
The central themes around which my artistic production focuses are union in all its connotations and senses, balance and spiritual strength. Using Corten steel assembly and welding techniques, in my large and small format sculptures, I look for aesthetic references in constructivism, mobile sculpture and abstract geometry. Another line of my work that is supported and linked to my sculptural production is drawing and painting. Always in a monochrome color range, I use various types of inks and pigments to create abstract compositions, seeking the dynamic dichotomy between lightness and strength. , taking the geometric references that I look for in nature to the extreme state of simplicity. Biography Oscar Deluis (Icod de los Vinos, Tenerife, 1980) Lives and works in Tenerife. Manufacturer of metal products by profession, pursuing his desire to express emotions and life experiences in metal, he began to fully dedicate himself to sculpture in 2018. He perfectly masters the techniques of working on iron, Corten steel and stainless steel, these being the main materials of his artistic production. Since its inception in 2018, it has held group and individual exhibitions at the Castillo San Miguel Museum, the exhibition space of the Hotel Paradisus by Meliá Gran Canaria, the Interpretation Center of Parque del Drago, the exhibition space of the Hotel Baobab Suite, the Sala de García Sanabria Art and the Artroom by Sábila Gallery. His works are found in private collections in Madrid, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Belgium and are part of the Paradisus by Meliá hotel collection. As of 2023, he became an associate member of AICAV (Canary Islands Association of Visual Artists). |
