Rene Benvenutti studied classical traditional painting at the Lorenzo de Medici Academy in Florence Italy and later studied at the School of Design of the Altos de Chavon institution belonging to Parsons of New York. Today, he is one of the figurative painters of Puerto Rico. His work is collected internationally, including the Reina Sofia Museum, Agora Art Gallery New York, the Alexander Franchesqui Museum, the Vatican Museum and various local and international private collections. His narrative paintings are presented using techniques of the ancient masters of painting, but with a timeless and avant-garde contemporary vision. His major influences are Rembrandt and Caravaggio. Rembrandt inherits all the plasticity and pictorial force of Caravaggio the temperamental of his work.
