Laureano Troitiño Cachafeiro:
He was born in 1955 in Cotobade (Pontevedra). Sensitive and a lover of nature, his interest in communicating through painting comes from his time as a bachelor student, despite his great passion for art, he began to paint late. He began his technical studies in drawing and painting with Professor Cristina Martínez (a graduate in fine arts), and then continued his solo training path in a self-taught way.
He belongs to the Artists Pontevedreses group, and has participated in numerous collective and individual exhibitions in different institutions and venues. Some of his paintings are scattered throughout Galicia, Madrid, Valencia, Bilbao, and Paris (France).
His painting, at first glance, might seem simple execution, but such hasty vision is completely unreal. We are facing a
carefully crafted work as a whole, with a very good visual impact that make it attractive; and the realism that prints its landscapes, conveys a truth that easily transports the viewer to the scene he has painted.
The most recurrent theme in his work is the living nature. The light used by this artist revolts against this almost generalized assertion that "The Galician landscape is melancholy, sad and foggy". Far away from the previous popular belief, his painting is full of splendid skies with blues full of life and joy, dotted with the odd cloud that does not break that charm.
